Epilogue

It’s been almost twenty years
Since the war that took so many
It’s been almost forty years
Since the night that took a few
And, more significantly, made you

It’s been over a decade
Since we had our first child
It’s been about two decades
Since we first kissed that one night
And through the dark, we saw the light

These three babies are our living proof
Of the thing that unites all that is good under one magic roof

It’s the bond that chemistry can’t define
It’s the way our families now intertwine
And it’s the feeling written on our faces when all seems lost
It’s the hold of love on our hearts, on our lives, on our souls

It’s almost eleven now
The train will whirr and smoke
It’s almost eleven now
The train will leave for Hogwarts
And, more excitingly, take you

Lily, you’re almost eleven now
Your time will come before you know
You’re nearly old enough now
But value your time at home with us
And, more importantly, as a child

You, Al and James are the living proof
Of the thing that unites all that is good under this magic roof

It’s the bond that chemistry can’t define
It’s the way our families now intertwine
And it’s the feeling written on our faces when all seems lost
It’s the hold of love on our hearts, on our lives, on our souls

Time to pack up, time to go
Time to drive now, time to go
Time to get out, time to go
Time to say goodbye, time to go
Time to grow up, time to go
